SIXTH CPC REPORT
2.2.11 Under the system of running pay bands being recommended by the Commission, al the employees belonging to the aforesaid 4 categories will be placed in distinct running pay bands. At the time of promotion from one post to another in the same running pay band, the grade pay (being a fixed am0ount attached to each post in the hierarchy) attached to posts at different levels within the same running pay band will change. Additionally, increase in form of one increment will also be given at the time of promotion.
IN CASE OF GROUP D OFFICIALS;
QUESTION OF REQUISITE QUALIFICATION
SIXTH CPC REPORT
2.2.10 In so far as future recruitment is concerned, no direct recruitment in the - 1S scale will take place. The scale will, however, be operated for regulating emoluments during the training period of candidates who do not possess the minimum qualification of Matric. The Commission is firmly of the view that candidates not possessing the minimum qualification of Matric and/or ITI cannot be recruited in the Government, as all jobs in the government require some level of skill.
Thereafter, pay of such of those Group D employees who already possess the revised minimum qualification recommended by the Commission prescribed for entry into PB-1 would be fixed with effect from 01.01.2006 in PB - 1 with grade pay of Rs. 1800.
