Dear Comrades - The following is the News Flash on Pay Commission and GDS Committee.

1. PAY COMMISSION: A High level meeting of the Cabinet Secretary, DOPT Secretary and the Expenditure Secretary was held on last Monday on 21.07.2008. Now on coming Monday on 28.07.2008 they will interact with the PMO. The Meeting of the Empowered Secretaries Committee would meet only after the above interaction with the PMO. Whether the Empowered Committee would invite Staff Side or confine their meeting only amongst the Secretaries is not yet clear. Any how it appears that the process of finalization preparatory to implementation is on and we may expect fast development soon.

By the way our comrades are once again reminded of our position on the matter of implementation of pay commission. We are clear that if our basic modifications in the recommendations are not accepted by the Government, then we have no option but to sit in an emergency Extended National Executive Meeting of Confederation and take a decision for industrial action.

2. GDS Committee: The Government has granted three months additional time to Natraja Murti Committee irrespective of the stiff opposition from the GDS Union and the NFPE. The reason appears to be that the Agency to whom the GDS Committee had entrusted some statistical work has not yet finalised its work. The CWC Meeting of the GDS Union is scheduled to meet at New Delhi from 29th to 31st July 2008. The GDS GS is already in consultation with the NFPE also. After the CWC meeting an appropriate decision would be taken on the matter of this negative development. NFPE is clear that any agitation of the CG Employees shall include the issue of important GDS Demands in the Charter and simialrly any Postal Employees agitation on pay commission related issues shall include basic GDS demands also

GLAD TO READ THE LATEST NEWS.BUT,WHILST TAKING UTMOST CARE TO MEET EACH OF OUR DEMANDS, WE SHOULD ENSURE THAT WE SHOULD ACCOMPLISH IT WITHIN A SHORT SPAN OF TIME,AS FAR AS POSSIBLE.

BECAUSE,ALREADY A LOT OF TIME HAS ELAPSED.WE SHOULD SHRINK THE TIME FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FINAL PAY.

With a good hope for spc. While taking the issue of GDS as priority , it should not be forgetted that in recent times since 10 years the most deprived and humilited carde is Class-III Postal employees not the GDS. Therefore the interest of Class-III Postal employees should also given priorities otherwise they have to be satisfied with a lot of consolations and further promises from our esteem leaders

Respected Comrade,
Our members are becoming very much impatient to know the latest developements with repect to implementation of the recommendations of the 6th CPC. P-III site was silent since June 19, 2008. We are happy to see it active again on July-25. We are hopeful that our CHQ is safeguarding the interest of its members as has been witnessed starting from the Draft memorandum to submission of proposals to the Review Committee for necessary modification. Even a line of information will be of grate use for us who are working at the grass root level. Kind request to post the proceedings of the meeting dated 28.07.2008 with PMO as informed earlier.
With regards.

Nothing to say. Lefts are withdrawn support from Govt. It would be better to fight with the Govt. without withdrawal of support. Bank bill , pension bill , insurance bill may be pass by the Govt. very soon. Responsonsibilities of the lefts to the trade union movement will be quiestionable !
