EIGHTH FEDERAL COUNCIL – A RESOUNDING SUCCESS

The Eighth Federal Council of the NFPE was held in New Delhi from 20.06.2010 to 22.06.2010 under the Presidentship of Com. D. K. Rahate, President NFPE. Dr. M. K. Pande, National vice President of CITU inaugurated the Federal Council on 20.06.2010 morning inaugural session.

The other prominent speakers in the inaugural session were comrades K. K. N. Kutty, Secretary General, Confederation, C. C. Pillai, Former Secretary General NFPE, P. Abimanyu, General Secretary BSNEU, M. S. Raja, Secretary General, All India Audit and Accounts Association, Vrigu Bhattacharjee, Secretary General, All India Civil Accounts Association, S. S. Mahadevaiah, General Secretary, AIPEDE Union, R. L. Bhattacharjee, Ex-Deputy Secretary General, NFPE, B. G. Tamhankar, Former NFPE President, Desraj Sharma, Ex- General Secretary P4, Shib Shankar Roy, Ex-AGS P3, Shankar Kaduskar, Ex-Vice President, P3 CHQ.

The Federal Council dealt a huge agenda and more than 35 Federal Councillers were allowed to discuss and debate on all the items of agenda. On 21.06.2010, our CHQ has launched the new edition of ‘Venture’ and the first copy was presented to Com. M. Krishnan, CHQ President by Com. C. C. Pillai, Ex-Secretary General, NFPE. Similarly another book ‘The Guide’ which was also compiled by our General Secrtary Com. K. V. Sridharan was released by P4 CHQ and the first copy was presented to Com. S. K. Humayun, CHQ President P4 CHQ by Com. C. C. Pillai. The release of two valuable books is perhaps one of the high lights of the Federal council.

After debates and discussions several resolutions were unanimously adopted and those resolutions will be published in the Postal crusader by the Federation. The Federal Council endorsed the strike decision and appealed all the Postal workers to make it all resounding success and mitigate the issues. The Federal Council further appealed all the Postal Workers to contribute Rs.100/- per head to NFPE for having a own building in the head quarters in the near future

A felicitation function was also organised to record the dedicated service rendered by Com. K. Ragavendran, as Secretary General to the Federation as he has to be relieved due to his superannuation on 30.06.2010. All senior leaders and General Secretaries were hailed the services of Com. K. Ragavendran.

On 22.06.2010 forenoon. Dr. Udai Balakrishnan, Member PLI delivered a beautiful oration about the services and the needs to protect the interest of Postal workers. His lecture is one of the master piece and his comradeship is highly laudable.

The CHQ conveys its greetings to all the elected office bearers and assures its fullest cooperation to the Federation in all its endeavors for the betterment of Postal workers. We feel proud to have Com. M. Krishnan, our CHQ President as our Secretary General.

The Federal Council was very smooth and dealt all the issues minutely. Com. K. R. has taken all the efforts for the successful conduct of the council and his draft report on all topic is simply superb. We record our sincere and abundant thanks to Com. K. Ragavendran for his yeomen service rendered to our organisation and relieved on the eve of his superannuation from service.
