POSTMASTER'S GRADE-I EXAM - REVISED SYLLABUS

Subject: - Revised Syllabus for Departmental Examination in respect of Post Master Grade – I in Postal wing

Sir/Madam,

I am directed to say that the Recruitment Rules for Postmaster Grade-I provides for filling up of the vacancies by promotion through Limited Departmental Competitive Examination from amongst the Postal Assistants working in Post Offices with five years of regular service in the grade. Thus, the unfilled posts, after the initial constitution, if any, and regular vacancies subsequently will be filled up on the basis of Limited Departmental Competitive Examination.

2. The pattern and syllabus for Limited Departmental Competitive Examination to fill up the vacancies in the grade of Postmaster Grade-I was circulated to the Circles vide Directorate’s letter of even number dated 08.12.2010.

3. The said pattern and syllabus has since been reviewed. It has been decided with the approval of Competent Authority to revise the pattern and syllabus of the examination as indicated in the Annexure. The examination will be held without the aid of books. The date for holding the examination will be communicated as and when required.

4. It is requested that the revised Syllabus may be brought to the notice of all concerned.

5. This supersedes this Division’s letter of even number dated 08.12.2010.

The Competent Authority will ensure and certify the following before recommending the application of the official for examination:

(i) No disciplinary action is pending or contemplated against the applicant.

(ii) No punishment is current against the applicant.

(iii) No adverse entry in the APAR/ACR in the last five years.
