Sub: - Clarification on upper pay limit for performing work on Over Time Allowance

Sir/Madam,

I am directed to refer to this office letter of even no. dated 22.03.2002 on the above mentioned subject.

2. The Circles were instructed that for determining the eligibility for OTA, only notional pre-revised pay of the concerned employee should be taken into consideration and that no revised pay limit of Rs.2200 has been fixed nor any such revised ceiling of pay common to all employees can be uniformly applied for determining eligibility to perform work on OTA.

3. Consequent on implementation or recommendations of 6^th CPC, the Government has not communicated any decision on upper pay limit for performing Over Time Allowance. Therefore, it is directed that the instructions contained in letter no. 107/2001-P.E.II 22.03.2002 should strictly be kept in view for determining the eligibility for OTA

4. This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
